The upper Chester River has been experiencing a strong expansion of SAV in the last several years. This image, taken above the river near Bluff Point in 2017, shows freshwater SAV growing in a large continuous bed along the north shore and new round colonies that formed farther out in the river (identified by their round shapes). The color aerial imagery was taken at an altitude of 13,200 ft on 8/22/17.
